Valuing our Volunteers (#VolunteersWeek)

With over 4 million members worldwide thousands of Mothers’ Union members demonstrate their “Faith in Action” through their volunteering. From work in prisons, hospitals, and parent & toddler groups to just taking the time to knit twiddlemuffs for dementia sufferers or tiny clothes for new born baby wards - the list of what our members do is extensive!

Our unique ability to reach out in charity to improve and strengthen family and community life would not happen without our volunteers.

To show our appreciation we are celebrating the achievements of our members as we take part in Volunteer’s Week. You will be updated on what different members are achieving throughout the two weeks of #VolunteersWeek here on our website. We are excited  that the two weeks will cumulate at The Patrons Lunch, Buckingham Palace where we are thrilled to be joined with just a handful of our deserving members.

The Queen has been Patron of Mothers’ Union since since 1952 and we are delighted to be part of the Patron’s Lunch on 12th June. The Queen has spoken often about her Christian faith and she has lived out that faith in service to Britain and the Commonwealth.  Her example has been inspirational to our Christian care for families within communities around the world.  Therefore we have chosen members from across the organisation who have demonstrated their faith through dedicated service to Mothers’ Union, to represent our worldwide membership on the Mall as part of the Patron’s Lunch.

We’re so grateful for all our volunteer members do in the name of Mothers’ Union and we can’t thank you enough for your continual support.
